So what kind of people actually read TWC blog?

Posted: Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Well we are averaging something close to 80 visitors a day, and yet we really don't know a whole lot about you folks who stop by to see us. I know that we get some readers by way of NT for sure, and the various Scuba boards I frequent. I know we get a few that are family, both Chris' dad and my own are known to stop by from time to time (and even say hello via the comments). We certainly get a Myspacer or two, maybe even a Facebooker. That's all great, but I am more interested in what brings you here in the first place, what brings you back (if you ever return) and what could we offer that would make your time at Warfare better. I was looking at the site stats and noticed something pretty freaking cool. We are not a regional site anymore, not like when it was ONLY our dads, girlfriends, and the occasional homie with a few minutes online before they have to go back to their cell that were stopping by. We are not even national anymore, I mean for a while there I was pretty sure it was only Retro Inspired in Los Angeles that was keeping us "national". It has come to my intention that we are now global, yes that is right The Warfare Collective has gone international.

The pictures are the leaders of the different countries represented in our "Last 100 visitors" listed in the site counter. Pretty god damn cool to think people (or at least a person) in Japan, Hungary, Brazil, Australia, Poland, The Philippines (What up Munsy Man) and even, you guessed it, the ol' US of A, among others find us interesting enough to stop by and spend an average of almost a minute and a half appreciating the kind of stuff that we think is interesting enough to share. So please do us a favor. With 80 visitors a day, we average MAYBE 1 or 2 comments a day (and lets face it most of those are from me). So at the end of every post is a Comment link, USE IT!!!! Writing a blog is fun, but writing one with very little exchange is a bit like talking to a wall, and wile I have done that often in life I actually enjoy it more with a naked Spanish girl with long curly hair, but would settle for a bit of chit chat with each and every one of you. So have something to say? Say it, tell us we suck (this means you Nick), think I should stop rambling? Fine, want to go on a date? I'm in and thanks to a recent string of bad dates I even have a decent list of nice night spots we could go (really I am lonely). Whatever's clever, just click comment and say hello, tell us where you are, what you think of us, if you will ever come back, and why not. We love you all, but we just want you to say hello once in a while, or even just tell us to stop calling you. If commenting is not your thing that is cool, throw me a note at bigfame@gmail.com (especially if you are a girl, accuratley described above).

ED NOTE: You can email me as well, if you feel the need. oo206oo@gmail.com

Thanks - Chris

I'm from NT, as I'm guessing most of the people on here are originally from. I try and comment from time to time, but like you said, theres not much going on in the comments a lot of the time. I like what you guys do, from Chris' design stuff, to BFO's dick jokes.

Now start selling shirts(please), and Chris, remember the wooden knuckles? Get at me if you want to do them still, that thing kinda fizzled out.

    Hey Jake.
I've been following it (loosely) for a few months now I think. The drawings got me interested, but its always good to read what's happenin'

Haven't been on NT for a while, but the Sonics will live on! The Thunder have the worst logo ever.

Anyway, greetings from The Emerald Isle.
    Keep 'er lit!

nice to know one of my all time favorite NTers, a true OG and a very very talented designer in his own right is stopping by. Chris I'm sorry we never got to meet up when you were in the states and I sure hope things are good back home. I think I have an e-mail for you so I will shoot you an official hello. You already know my take on the Sonics.

Again I'd really like to thank you all it is these exchanges in the comment area that make this all most fun for me and I would certainly encourage everyone to leave more even if it is just a few simple words (lord knows I have never had much more than that to offer my damn self),

    From NT as well.

Jake, sorry about never meeting up in Seattle, trip turned out to be alot of fun, enjoyed the city, just too many people with varying agendas plus my buddy's wedding just made it real hectic. Appreciate the info you laid out though, definitely came in handy.

I did hit up Kau Kau in Chinatown, turned out to be close to my friend's warehouse, and it was quite tasty. Took my buddy to your boy's place, Winner's Circle, and then around the corner to Goods, I believe that what it was called, and he scooped up a few things.

Also found ourselves at Wade's gun range a couple of times and spent a decent amount of $ releasing some stress on some paper targets.

Hopefully be back there after the New Year.

My name is Chris, and i live in Lakeland Hills. Im a graphic designer and occasional artist of other mediums. I started this blog. I post stuff on it. And im glad youre all reading it.

Im posting this cause im a reader of this blog as well. When Fame writes things, i read them.

  9. Big Fame One November 12, 2008 9:46 AM

Casey glad you had fun man and it certainly sounds like you hit some of my favorite spots, the guys over at Goods are cool and the boys at WC are family for sure. I spend a fair amount of money at Wades myself not to mention dreaming of trips to Kau Kau. Part of the point of yesterdays post was just to let you guys all know that we are in fact reading these comments and if the reason we have been getting so few is people don't know if anyone is reading or looking for them the answer to that one is Yes we read them and Yes we would love to hear more from you guys. I am an avid reader of the Smoking Section and over there there is more action from the community on comments than from the writers on the blog. I think it encourages a sense of community and I would love to see that develop here. Hell in reality this is your blog, we write here, Chris and I, but with out anyone reading it we are just two toolboxes with a diary of sorts. So speak up, and we will respond I promise. If there are requests, ask em, trust me we will do what we can to make you happy.

On to my intro, I am Jake or BFO, or Big Fame and I live in Seattle, Washington as most of you know. I started as a reader of TWC and a friend of Chris'. He is the talent, I am the mouthpiece basically. I do a lot more reading here than writing and for that I blame laziness. Chris brought me on board since he can only post so much solo, and I am so full of shit my eyes are brown so he thought I could share a story or two, or some thoughts on random shit from time to time as filler. Well I am streaky, sometimes I post a lot, sometimes I am the single worst blogging partner he could have. Every so often I swear I will change and contribute more then I do for a while, and then....

For me the biggest obtacle has been the comments section. I am not as talented an artist as old Chris, and so I have little to share in that department, mostly what I have to offer is the same stuff that has kept me around NT for so long. Basically charm, quick wit, a sharp tounge, a great eye for stories, and the ability to make mundane stuff interesting (or as most of you would call it, I am full of shit and like to read my own typing). For me there has to be a bit of give and take, I like knowing that someone is enjoying it or hating it even, so the request for to use the comments is really a selfish one. If you let me know you are out there I will write more, and I want to write more.

I plan on doin a fair amount of drawings as Christmas gifts this year, since im always being hassled about it anyway, and i feel my skills are fading as of late, so i need to get back into it.

Which means ill be posting more sketches and drawings on here in the weeks to come.

  15. Kevin November 12, 2008 8:12 PM

My name is Kevin from 2000words.org

the best custom sneaker blog in the history of the internets.

One time i was in a car accident and stuck at home for a month and pretty much every day for said month i talked about art and custom sneakers with Chris.

Eventually he hated my guts and i started my blog because i had no one else to talk to.

Jake took me under his flabby wing on xbox and now i'm in his clan AoD. dont ask.

i like this blog its a place i stop by.

I think Chris is talented and pretty lazy.

If he ever gets his shit together it should be interesting.

PS if he could ban me from leaving comments he would. i think he's blocked me on AIM, Email and probably myspace.

    xoxoxo

    Kevin

I go to Boise State.....BCS buster who will get killed if we play anyone legit.

Throw up some merchandise, T-Shirt would be cool, i know you did a sticker package a while ago, I think a belt buckle would be sick as hell. I got no complaints really with the site at all.
