So i looked at a few reference pics, sketched it out, and got down to it. I painted on an acrylic wash with some red, for the nutsack looking thing and the floppy head thing. Then i grabbed a bic pen and got to work.
About an hour later, i noticed i had gotten a bit carried away and it now looked like an evil zombie rooster...not exactly mom material.
But i framed it and im still giving it to her anyway. I hope she likes it.
Ill let you all know if it ends up hanging up in the garage or something.

Bic pens are actually really good for shading. You can almost use it like a pencil, with vary degrees of pressure. I do a lot of sketching and rough thumbnail work in Bic, but never a "finished" product.
