"Working", if you can call it that...

The concepting continues...

...although im pretty sure this carrot-nosed elephant aint gonna make the cut. At least not without some revisions.

Thats what the early stages are all about though. If im doing it right, my book will end up full of crap i'll never use.

I cant believe i made the damn trunk look so much like a carrot. Damn.

See none, speak none...

So, the snow from the post below this one, led to boredom, which led to this.

Still thinkin about how to portray "hear none" in a gangster way.

ps - im brainstorming big things for TWC 2008. Expect more hand drawn designs, complimented by digital media. As well as the usual typography based designs. (which i had no idea i even did, until retro mentioned it....and i hate typography. go figure.)

What the hell?...

LRG contest results...and the winner is.....

Posted: Monday, March 17, 2008
...this guy.

I took second place. Which isnt bad, but i was expecting to win (as cocky as that sounds). This is what Ben had to say about my entries:

"he came hard and did a superdope design, but it wasn’t enough to win first, it was very close though, very very close, this is the reason why it took the weekend instead of friday to choose a winner. thank you chris, we loved the garden of eden metaphor too, etc. good shit, you win a nice box of L-R-G clothes, hit me for the info."

" as for warfare collection, he was literally gonna win hands down but he used a file that was shown before off Jonas's snake cycle chain... but the concept was dope and it was clean."

I wish i wouldve have gone further with this concept, seeing as how a giraffe drawing won. But i backed off of this idea when i saw a hundred panda-themes entries popping up. This was actually the very first concept that came to me, but i let it go. I guess that goes to show you, follow your instincts.

Oh well, second place and a big box full of LRG stuff is better than nothing.

In the mail...

I sent out 7 packs of grenade stickers today. Id say you can expect em at your door early next week, if not sooner.

There isnt really a "story" per say, but here it is.

The owner of LRG, Jonas Bevacqua, redesigned the LRG cycle logo. Reinterpreted as a serpent, because he was born in the year of the snake. Then he had it made into two iced out gold pendants. As seen below.

...so for the contest i put in some vector work and cleaned it all up, nice and crispy. At the same time my dude Rob hits me up with a nice concept for a shirt. Basically a Garden of Eden steez, with an apple etc. So i went and mocked it up and voila. A design that should appeal to the dude judging the contest, as well as the the regular dude who doesnt even know the story. I think it should win, all bias aside, because the rest of the entries are doo doo. ( www.myspace.com/benballer ). See for yourself.

ps - i dont know why the template provided was a v-neck, but it is what it is. And the "DESIGNER" shirt i made was 100% a joke and just taking shots at the crappy entries, but that might (as manny suggested) end up in the Warfare Summer collection. We shall see.

LRG contest entries...

These pretty much speak for themselves. Although the last one is just me taking a shot at all the crappy entries that were turned in. Designers will get it, some regular folks will get it, but the tards im poking fun at probably wont.

Click the image to enlarge.

Theres actually a bit of a story behind this first one, but i wont go into it unless someone asks.

Another big round of sticker packs are being sent out this week. But be patient.
And i might have to start charging cats after this round, its takin up a lotta my time.
If i dont get a bunch of pics in return this time, im gonna have to really start taxing people after this.

This is me and Nixon btw. Some might know him as "Ryan Loco". He tells me i have a gift package coming my way this week, from the company hes working for, TRIUMPH UNITED.

Ill post a little more about that at a later date, but i felt i needed a pic in this post. So there.
