Working on big things...

...at my favorite work station.

Im working on something that i gotta keep top secret right now, but its a nice change of pace. Its really taking me outside my comfort zone and my usual genre'. Even after my part is done though, its gonna take a while to go into production. So hurry up and wait.

Oh yeah, and hotel slippers FTMFW.

Sapphire & tonics too.

I really just want to contribute to the bbq theme...

It is officially summer, I get all my produce and propane for free, and live on the beach so you already know....

Grilled beef, nectarine, peach, sweet onion, and bell pepper kabobs, with grilled asparagus and Sourdough soaked in a ballsamic and olive oil vinaigrette toasted on the grill. Crack a beer or 6 and then a cigar afterward. Thank god for the grill.

ps - Vegas was fun.

Went to the Hofbrauhaus and had 5 of these monsters. Which came out to like 170 ounces of beer, or something like that. I had the little lady take pics of the progression, hoping to gain an outsiders view of how it goes down, before i go down. Didnt really work though. I was surprisingly, not as drunk as i expected. Not sure if thats a good thing, or a bad thing.

If my stomach hadnt felt like it was going to burst, due to sheer volume of beer alone, i probably could have drank more.

ps - Hofbrau lager tastes a lot like Stella, much to my joy. Try some if you get a chance. But avoid the hefeweizen (pic 2), too much corriander in my opinion.

I stole this directly from Jeff Staple's blog...

In case you need help spending your money...

Posted: Thursday, June 19, 2008
Maybe you just got your George W check and you are thinking to yourself "Self, what on earth should I spend this money on?". Maybe you are just baller, or hell maybe you worked everyone over on those trash AM95 Neon's and want to turn and burn the profit.

Well you can always count on your homies here at the Warfare to help you out. Friend of the fam, Ewok One has got a new print available for purchase over at Dirty Pilot. If you aren't hip to Ewok's work then you are a nerd and you can't sit by us at lunch, if you want to get familiar with his work, and you SHOULD then go HERE or even HERE.

Ewok has been good to us, and I have his stuff up in my crib. So show the man some support and make people think you have good taste in artwork as well.

When the going gets tough...

Posted: Tuesday, June 17, 2008
the tough get going, and here in Seattle that means we grab a latte, throw some cargo shorts over our long undies, strap on our Birkenstock's and calmly protest (well except when WTO was here). Sometimes something simply must be said and so we had us a rally yesterday. The city of Seattle is locked in a battle with the new owners of the Seattle Super Sonics. They want to steal our team and point their wagons toward Oklahoma City, and the fans aren't having it. This whole thing has been developing for a long time, it speaks to the paralyzing indecision of our local government, and to the undeniable corruption of the NBA. Not only have David Stern (he needs to step down, or be removed after having is reputation completely destroyed.)and Clay Bennett (the head of the new ownership group) been made out to be obvious liars, but thieves with an agenda as well. Clay Clay has been caught lying about his intentions as early as the time of the original sale in e-mails to Aubrey McClendon (another of the new owners, one who has financially supported anti gay groups and made the statement many months ago that they never intended to stay here). Now I will be honest, I am not a huge NBA fan, I prefer the college game, and I prefer baseball and football to both, but I am not someone who is okay with being lied to or stolen from and in this case I feel as though I have had both attempted. I had to work yesterday, but snuck down to the S.ave O.ur S.onics rally anyway. As the first day of the trial let out the rally was in full swing, with well over a thousand (I have actually heard suggested that there was over 2000 fans, yet OKC media reported that it was "a few hundred") Sonics fans in their green and yellow listening to the X-man, and Gary Payton among others speak. Players from other teams were in attendance, supporting our cause even though they are affiliated with other NBA teams, and their actions could be construed as being anti NBA in nature. Stern is up against a lot, he has corruption amongst NBA officials, has lied about who the feds have spoken with in regards to the corrupt officiating, and has claimed to fully support and trust Clay Clay who is clearly a lying sack of shit (I believe this will be a major blow, hitching your name to the name of a scoundrel can't end well) In any case, stay tuned this is either the beginning of a new dawn or the beginning of the end for NBA basketball in Seattle. I would like to thank my dude Ronnskizzle for providing the photos, as I was working I didn't get to take any and thought providing you with a few sketches would not be the same. Good looking bro.
Clear and concise...

I would buy this guy drinks all night off the jersey alone.

Crowd was clearly in full effect...

I bet X-Man didn't expect to see that picture at the rally...

Now this guy I would buy a Chai Latte for the pants...

Yes, yes he does (and my money says David Stern is on the receiving end)...She isn't quite old enough to be one of his baby mama's but the sign is clever...

BONUS:
The pretty girls came out in support as well, can't beat that...

So my dude Gordo hipped me to the guys at Mexican Chocolate Design a few years ago, he has some of their posters up in frames at his apt. I keep meaning to pass along some of heir stuff to you folks but have been in hibernation. Check you the site, because knowing about cool shit makes people think you are cooler than them. MCD.

Extra points cause I was at the Turbonegro show from this tour when they touched down in Seattle.

Jewelry...stay tuned...

So this is a logo i designed a while back...

And now its molded into gold and covered in diamonds. Go figure.

I dont know why the pic is showing up so small (click it to enlarge), but theyre camera phone pics anyway, so they dont look that great. When i get my hands on better pics, ill post them. Ben, over at IceeFresh is saying this is one of the top 3 rings theyve ever made.

Stay tuned the blog in the future btw, if things shape up the way theyre looking like they might, this isnt the last piece of my work that will be icey and gold.

ps - i also created the G.I. Joe knockoff logo on the side.

Why would I hang lobster posters in my apt?....

Posted:
...because theyre dope posters, from Concepts in Boston.

Boston Chris sent me some posters from the Nike SB Lobster release a couple weeks back. From what he tells me, the whole concepting and packaging artwork was done by the same folks who did the marketing for the new Indiana Jones flick.

The firm's name is Pilot Design Group, and theyre based out of Boston.

Made it through season 3, bought 4, but never got around to it. Started it last night and I am hooked again. Now though I got to wait till 5 comes out. How was it?

"Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes..."

Posted: Tuesday, June 3, 2008

"I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again." So it is typical that I take for granted the things that just feel like they will always be there. I am sure nearly anyone can relate. I lived in West Seattle for five years. As those that know Seattle can tell you, West Seattle is maybe 10 minutes by car from downtown BUT it might as well be 100 miles. Many West Seattlites talk about the pain it is to have to go "into the city" while everyone else will explain why they don't come see you anymore, "it's just so far". I liked being away from it all but still close enough to be in the mix when I wanted to be. While I lived there much of my social life was spent running up hundreds of dollars a night drinking in the same spot. Every Tues and Wed night, and hell maybe a night or two more trough out the week were spent at the same table. Lynn asked me a MILLION times if I was driving that particular night as she handed me my eighth cocktail, knowing I was only half done. Christopher Michael was the karaoke host and is hands down the best DJ around, dance nights, costume parties, and Mari Gras were all memorable. Met a lot of "friends" there, had birthday parties, pulled some snatch out of the place, in general had some really great times. Hell people shot at us at that bar, had a few good fights, sang a lot of Karaoke, scored illicit substances in bathroom stalls, partied with old ladies on Tuesday nights, and when the whole city lost power for like 2 weeks some how they had power, and booze. I haven't been back since I moved, but I keep saying I will "go soon". As corny as it may sound, finding out tonight that my spot is closed for good made me sad. The place was a dive, a true "drunken fishermen and fat broads" sort of place, and now that's that. Sorry for the lame entry, and for the Billy Joel lyric. It is one of the few Billy Joel songs I didn't attempt to sing at The Corner Inn during my run. Most while nearly falling off the stage. RIP "The Corner"

Booze = good design, sometimes.

This is one of the gifts my little lady got me for our anniversary. The rum itself is pretty damn good, but im almost more impressed with the package design. Everything about 10Cane seems to be extremely well thought out, and flawlessly executed. I just love everything about it.

I also had to include a pic of my favorite gin, because honestly, the packaging on Sapphire is also classicly well done.

While im posting pics btw, this is one of the gifts i gave the wifey. Acrylic on canvas. There is some subtle shading on the white areas that you can probably see if you click the pic and peep the huge version.

ps - I spotted this awesome specimen at the Mariners game on saturday and couldnt help myself. Dude had the flatop x bushy back x ponytail x curly collabo.
