As im sure a lot of you already know, our beloved Jake (aka BIG FAME ONE) passed on, last friday afternoon. Jake's heart gave out on him as he was diving in Elliott Bay with his friend Sean. They were able to make it to the beach where he lost consciousness and his breathing stopped. They attempted to resuscitate him until the ambulance showed up, where they loaded him up and took him to the hostpital. In spite of their efforts, they were unable to bring him back.
Id like to apologise to our readers for not informing you in a more timely manner, but these last few days have been pretty rough, and to be honest, blogging wasnt in the front of mind. I appreciate all the comments that have already been left, from people who found out about the news via other sources. The kind words are appreciated.
I plan on posting a bit more of a memorial type blog, but that will come a little later on. The important thing at this point i think is to keep his family and friends in our thoughts.
The service will be tomorrow, Tuesday March 10th at 7pm.
It will take place at Valentines Barber Shop, as that was a place Jake spent a lot of time and Valentine is one of his oldest friends.

Im literally speechless. I got a message about this Sunday and hoped that it was some kinda misunderstanding or REALLY bad joke. wasnt till I found some info on a scuba messageboard that it hit me that it was true.
I only met Jake a few times, but I can say that he was extra cool. A really good dude. I know how I feel about this from my few encounters with him, so I cant even imagine how the people really close to him must feel. The impression he left on me was a lasting one. My prayers go out to his family and friends everywhere.
R.I.P.
It's very tough to lose a loved one... I didn't know BFO personally but I know he was an active member our NT community.

Damn. Speechless for real.

:(
rest in paradise.
WC should put out a commemorative shirt and donate all the proceeds to something BFO worthy.
BigBen, im thinking on that actually. Stay tuned.
Been out of the loop for a few weeks and this isnt what I was expecting to come back to. This is truly upsetting. Never got the chance to meet up with Jake when I was out in Seattle last summer but he couldnt have been more nice & helpful in our email exchanges. Damn. Rest in peace dude.
I'm sorry to hear. RIP BFO. My condolences.
r.i.p. bfo.
Dude, not sure what to say. never met the guy personally, but communicated a few times through the blog and through email. just a cool cat. RIP.
Forget the peace. Rest in fame, Jake.
It took about 5 seconds to be friends with Jake. In a lifetime I still won't forget him. My heart goes out to his family and everyone else who was touched by him.
Long live cigarette quesadillas and six inch gorillas my man..
Speechless. I can't believe this.
I was just chatting to him last week and all was good. He was so optimistic about his diving - I just can't believe this has happened.
Stunned.
I'll be thinking about him.
RIP Jake.
;(
RIP
Love you Jake.
I would love a T-shirt of my best friend Jake...and I know a bunch of others that would to.
I miss him so much he was my best friend in the whole world the only person I could talk to about anything and everything he had the best advice and was the greatest person i have ever had the pleasure to know. I just talked to him Tuesday to help him pick out eye glasses...devestating.
he is with his mother now whom he missed so dearly.
I LOVE YOU JAKE...Rest peacefully

i just found about this and Im shell shocked. We only chilled once when you came through NYC years ago, but I knew just from those few hours, you were one of the most genuine and realest cats I'd ever meet.
BFO/Jake, you're going to be sincerely missed homey.
RIP.
Chris,
Stay strong homey. If there is anything I can do, just say the word.
