So i was supposed to get a shout out in an article in The Wall Street Journal about the current jewelry trends with celebrities. It was gonna feature Ben Baller and a client and collaborator Nate (NLV). They interviewed them (or were about to) and NLV was gonna shout out the project him and i have been working on, as well as my name and URL. Then Nate got an email today:

Hey Nate, the story ran this morning. Alas, you did not make the final cut. They had me add some shit about 50 even though he didn't talk to me, and they took you out as a result. You were the original ending to the story, lamenting what is happening with ice but predicting it will come back...

Thanks for your help on the story, and please let me know if anything else happens in this area that I should be writing about. Sorry again that you didn't wind up making it.

So that was that. Win some, lose some. Oh well.

ps - Buy some stickers.

Couple of pick ups...and an update...

I worked on this Doc and Larry drawing a LITTLE bit today, cause i didnt feel like painting...

Also picked up these Alife New Balance 1300s thanks to a sweet deal from my boy Boston Chris. A bunch of CAO Brazillias (my favorite cigar) got delivered today, and as i was on my way out of the office today to head home, a buddy gave me this case of Boddingtons. Not a bad day overall.

So like i mentioned a couple weeks ago, Ben from IF&Co contacted me to work on some more jewelry design/mockup work. The client this time was the multi-platinum selling rapper Fabolous. He's known for his jewelry and his tendency to do a white gold and yellow gold version of everything, or alternating within the same piece etc. So the idea was to make a two sided piece, 1 side white, 1 side yellow. He already knew pretty much what he wanted, and due to the two sided concept, the options were kind of limited to start out with, so we went with the basic rectangular plate. It took a few rounds of changes to get the right typeface that he liked, but we ultimately settled on the same one used for the cover of his upcoming album Loso's Way.

So here are the pics...

"1 side is all white diamonds on white gold, flip side is all yellow diamonds, yellow gold.
we even did the bail that way. over 3,700 diamonds total, over 55 carats total in diamonds! piece itself weighs 550 grams which is over 1/2 a kilo!" - the specs, via Ben Baller

Looking forward to doing more work for Ben and IF&Co, as its always a pleasure. If you want more info on the piece, go to Bens blog.

PS - BUY SOME STICKERS BEFORE THEY RUN OUT, THE ORDERS ARE ALREADY COMING IN. INFO IS BELOW vvv

STICKERS!

New Warfare stickers for 2009. New logos, and more stickers per order (8 total, times are tough in the streets, so i sweetened the deal this time).

AND, i have some leftover stickers from last year, so ill be throwing some extras (of last year's logos) in each envelope, until i run out.

The "Collective Chop" logo is inspired by a Chinese chop. Which is, in a nutshell, a stamp bearing the owners signature and/or seal ( click here for more detail). This logo is what i imagine TWC's chop would be like, if i needed one. Notice the T W C letters intertwined.

The "New York Wankees" logo is pretty self explanitory. While im by no means a Yankees fan, the iconic status of the NY logo is undeniable. So i twisted it with some TWC flair.

And of course everyone knows and recognizes the "Swords" logo, TWC's standby, flagship mark.

I need to buy this...

My dude Retro sent this pic this morning, after a drunk call from Saturday night.

He put the Brazilia in the air for the man Jake, as it was his favorite smoke. Just thought id share the pic.

Back from Spokane...

There was a lot of drinking, a lot of really bad golf, and a lot of hanging out with old drunk dudes. I didnt take many pics or videos, but i got these two.

This was the 18th hole, after an 18 pack of beer (a couple of which we felt obligated to shotgun) and i dont know how many pulls off some cheap Canadian whiskey that one of the old dudes brought.

We decided to get our Happy Gilmore on, with less than impressive results.

Now im back to work. Expect some progress reports on the drawing and painting.

Im gone til Sunday...

Posted: Wednesday, May 13, 2009
...Ill be at the S.H.I.T. golf Tournament in Spokane. Ill return Sunday even, possibly with pics and/or videos of me doing something stupid. Who knows...

This was last year, expect more of the same.

How could you not love the Celtics after this?...

EDIT: To clarify, i meant the part where he shoves the little kid and knocks his hat off, i couldnt care less about this chump hitting the shot.

Sidetracked...

...So this is where the Doc vs Larry drawing stands as of now.

But im putting it aside for a little bit. Not for my usual lazy reasons though. I actually have a deadline (aka motivation) to finish that 300 painting i started ages ago. My buddy that im painting it for is having some important people stay at his house at the end of the month, and its also his birthday, so he wants it by then if possible.

So thats the goal/deadline/d-day.

End of the month and King Leonidis should be a wrap, its been a long time coming.

(then ill get back on that drawing above, cause i see no reason that should take much longer to finish, seeing as how its half done and i havent spent much time on it.)

Shout out for a shout out?...

Posted: Wednesday, May 6, 2009
A big shout out to the homie Ben, for his shout out of me, on his blog. He gets like a billion views a day or something, so who knows, maybe some work will come my way due to it.

Check his blog out at http://blog.ifandco.com/ to see what hes up to. Its a mix of his personal life and I.F. & Co's jewelry business. Its generally pretty entertaining.

For you Tarantino fans...

Ricky Hatton almost died last night...

Jesus H. Christ...

And i got my bootleg on and took some videos of the TV. Cant beat quality like this... (and dont mind the loud music and drunken commentary, this was like the 19th time we watched it on the Tivo.)

And i thought Hatton might actually be dead out there in the ring. I havent seen a dude SO knocked out in a long time.

More free stuff...

... from my man T in the ATL. He works at Prestigeous out there. I was surprised to find this package in my mailbox today after work. I had previously asked him about an Atlanta based brand called Brave Bernard. So he sent me out a shirt, and an extra shirt by the brand Staple, which im also a big fan of. (although i admit i have no idea what the graphic is on the staple shirt).

And i was at the grocery store after work when i bumped into Steve, whos the rep i know from Alaskan Brewing Co. He pretty much peer pressured me into buying his product, so ive put back a couple Alaskan IPAs this evening already. He hooked up that nice little bottle opener a while back so i felt obligated to use it on his beer. Cheers.

Ill be actin stupid and watching Manny Pacquiao beat Ricky Hatton tomorrow night, and plan on bringing my camera in case something hilarious and retarded happens, so expect a post on that soon.

Go Pacman.

I knew it...
