Progress shot....

I dont usually do this, but i figured why not?

This is the beginning of how i start to vector the final artwork over the top of the initial sketch.

As you can see, i really only use the sketch for the basic layout. Then i clean it up as i get busy with the pen tool. The black lines over the red sketch are the beginning of the clean-up, final process.

I know it looks weird at this stage, and the suction cups are horrible, but hang in there with me, its just a sketch so far...

FAME HAT...up for grabs..

Posted: Thursday, March 18, 2010
So i bought this hat a couple weeks back, to wear for Jakes 1 year anniversary party. I dont really dig fleece like that, but i figured this was too good to pass up.

Then i got it in the mail, tried it on.....and its way too big.

I wear a 7 3/8, so i ordered a 7 3/8, and i received a 7 3/8....except this thing fits at least a size too big. Its the biggest 7 3/8 ive ever seen. I dont wear my hats oversized like so many youngsters these days. So its up for grabs. I might eBay it as well, but i figured since so many of the blog readers were friends of FAME, id offer it here first.

KEEP IN MIND...it fits like a 7 1/2 (maybe bigger, im not sure) Retail was $45, im just tryin to get my money back. Ill even cover the shipping, since im such a nice guy. (and ill throw in some stickers too)

SO $45 shipped. Get at me. oo206oo@gmail.com . or leave a comment.

ps - i would just exchange it but the store i bought it from sucks. They "dont do returns" and have nothing else i want from them, in my size. So feel free to boycot the store called Hall of Fame, in LA. Thanks.

Diamond Motoring Logo...

Posted: Tuesday, March 16, 2010

This is a recent logo job i finished up for a company that specializes in limousine and luxury car rentals. In the near future they plan to branch out into custom tints and rims as well. The client wanted something that reflected the high end, luxury, classic feel of the company.

So we went with a clean, simple, and versatile 2 color layout that would remain timeless as the company grew.

Ive got another logo job that id say is 85-90% done, but the client has run into licensing problems with the company name. Once that project is done ill post it as well (assuming the client is ok with it), im just not sure when thats gonna be.

Thanks to Dallas....

Quick recap of last Saturday...

Posted: Monday, March 8, 2010
The bbq started around 12:30 and went all day. Then we went to a Chinese joint for more drinks and karaoke (not me, i dont sing, but Dallas loves him some karaoke). So we shut that joint down, and crammed 7 grown adults into a regular sized sedan Cab. I would have taken pics, but i couldnt get to my camera, which was in my own pocket.

So essentially it was a good 13 hours of drinking and telling Jake stories as we honored the man. Still cant believe its been a year already though.

Anyway, here are a few pics and videos.

And my man Dallas loves the karoke, as you can see.

This is Dal and Fitzy double teaming the karaoke, its a lot longer than the clip above, and not as entertaining as Dal's "BWAWK" (although he did throw a few BWAWKs in at the very end), but i told them i was gonna make them famous on the "interwebs", so here it is.

ps - if you watch and listen closely at about the 1:20 mark, it appears that Fitzy turns into a retard for a few seconds. And possibly again near the 2:00 mark. Im just sayin.

Tomorrow, March 6th...

Is the 1 year anniversary of the day our boy Jake passed.

Im gonna be celebrating my man, with Dallas and the rest of the crew tomorrow. But for now, here's a look back at the man himself.

Rest in Power Jake.

Clink Room hats...

So it turns out the hat i designed for that contest is NOT gonna be a New Era product. Instead, the Elm Company is going to be producing them. I cant lie, at first i was annoyed by this (and still am a LITTLE bit to be honest) but then they posted a sneak peak at the production of a hat from the last contest. The embroidery looks really nice and theyre gonna have custom tags and taping on the inside.

I LOVE green underbrims but hopefully i can avoid the tonal logo monogram on mine. We'll have to wait and see. Sometime this fall is what im being told.

Stay tuned.

So i just bought this...

..for my lady's dad's birthday. He's a man, and he likes beer.....theres no way he won't like it.

Overview:

Our Railroad Spike Bottle Openers are eye-catching, unique, and make fabulous gifts for your beer-drinking friends. Each bottle opener is hand-forged from an old railroad spike which was collected from an abandoned railroad line.

The forging process requires heating the steel spike to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit. Several custom tools were designed to create the bottle-opening claw as well as the twisted design on the handle.

Due to the hand-forging process, there will be slight variations between each opener. A thin coating of pure beeswax is added for protection and a bit of coloring.

Features & specs:

  • Dimensions: 6.25" x 1.5" x 0.75"
  • Made from reclaimed railroad spikes
  • Coal-forged by hand in the USA
  • Protective pure beeswax coating
